About Chris

Chris came to know Christ at the age of three and had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home. Chris, from as early as he can remember, felt God’s call on his life to work in full time ministry. During his teenage years, he was heavily involved in Word of Life student ministriesat Heritage Baptist Church in Lakeland, Florida. After high-school, he attended the Word of Life Bible Institute where he met his wife Laurie. After finishing College, Laurie and Chris were accepted as Missionaries with Word of Life in 1999. Today, they work as Regional Coordinators for Word of Life, overseeing the ministries in Florida and Texas. They have two children, Austin, who is seven, and Juleah, who is 4. Chris’s greatest passion is to clearly communicate the truth of the Bible in a relevant way to the next generation.

About Laurie

I was born into a home where both my parents loved Jesus and wanted me to know and love Him too. Early in life, I began to understand my need for a Savior. When I was seven years old, I prayed and asked Jesus to be my Savior. I always knew that He had to be first in my life...that living for Him was the greatest way to live. Yet as a teen, I began to place my focus on being comfortable and fitting in at school. By my senior year, I was very far from having a close relationship with the Lord. When I graduated from high school, I went to Word of Life Bible Institute. It took a few weeks for my cold heart to warm up to the incredible truths I heard from the Bible, but the Lord really used that time to get my attention focused back on Him and all that He wanted for my life. Today, I'm married to an amazing man who loves Jesus and sharing His Word with students like I once was. I enjoy teaching my kids about how much God loves them and how His ways are so much better that ours..."the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..."
